2024 - BIG Year for Castle Aviation - Aviation Expansion at Akron/Canton Airport

After 40 years in business and 25 years at CAK, Castle Aviation is looking forward to completing another hangar and office for an aviation expansion at Akron/Canton Airport late this summer of 2024.

The humble beginnings started in 1984 with several locations in NE Ohio to acquiring the former 356th Fighter Group restaurant just a few years ago located at CAK. Then Castle Aviation built what is now a productive 50,300-square-foot hangar and 11,000-square-foot office space to currently expanding AGAIN.

Michael Grossmann the CEO and Founder of Castle Aviation once again attributes and credits the growth to his employees saying, “The Castle team is an outstanding group of individuals that keep the business flying and they’re the reason that we’ve hit this 40-year milestone; therefore, we are truly grateful for everyone who has been a part of this accomplishment.”

Because of all the hard work from Alumni to current employees Castle Aviation secured the Go-Ahead to build another hangar and offices. They’ve conducted a Ground-Breaking Ceremony in September of 2023. Castle employees, CAK officials, local and state officials were in attendance to kick-off the expansion. The construction consists of a total 80,000-square-foot structure for hangar, office, and storage space.

After 6 months of tractors rumbling to break the ground, moving mounds of dirt and rock. They’ve paved the way for expanded plane parking, taxiing and they are now currently erecting steel and pouring concrete.

Castle Aviation has also been awarded as an Argus Gold Rated Aircraft Operator this year. ARGUS awards its Gold Rating to aircraft operators after in-depth research who have exceeded the standards of certain control groups with similar experiences and histories.

The Castle Aviation team is immensely looking forward to the opening of the expansion, and what the future may bring to the company and the local area.

Stay tuned and subscribe to our newsletters on our home page because we will be announcing a 40 Year Alumni celebration and ribbon cutting of our second hangar in the late summer of 2024. Not only that but we have installed a time-lapse camera for the expansion! We will be posting a video on the website for all to witness this amazing landmark in development.

~Cheers to 40 Years~
