Castle in Long Beach: The #WAI2023 Conference Recap

The Castle Team has just returned from Long Beach, CA where we were proud to have a booth at the whirlwind event that is the Women in Aviation Annual Conference. This year marks the 34th annual event which draws people in the aviation industry from dozens of countries around the world. We’re told this year’s event broke all attendance records—a trend we don’t see stopping anytime soon.

This year’s event location, the Long Beach Convention Center, was a great place to hold an event of this size and caliber. Despite the brutal weather, the likes of which none of us could have imagined for February in Southern California, attendees made the most of the event. With countless receptions, networking sessions, dinners and breakout sessions, we found there was something for everyone.

We met with so many organizations that we have longstanding partnerships with, and we were happy to meet many new friends, and to be introduced to new organizations that we’ll begin to partner with in the future as well.

Women in Aviation International is doing powerful things in the world of aviation. Not only for pilots-- WAI chapters around the globe welcome support staff, dispatchers, A&Ps and anyone else from the field of aviation, including their youth component, Girls in Aviation. At this year’s conference more than $890,000 in scholarships were awarded to continue furthering the mission of the organization, “ the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation and aerospace career fields and interest”.

Castle Aviation is proud corporate member of WAI and we’ll see you at next year’s conference in Orlando!
